Discussion:: Guest speaker: Professor Josh Mills, dean of business journalism program at Baruch College, former Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism professor and former New York Times assistant editor.
Lab: Researching international subjects. Finding experts. How relevant websites lead to relevant sources. How to think interactively.
Reading: Each student will receive a package of readings for their international subjects. Each student will also receive the name of a book he/she should purchase and begin reading over the Thanksgiving holidays.
Research: Find five relatively unknown English language websites (not news articles) that grapple with the international issue you're covering.
Writing: Write two- or three-sentence reviews of the five websites you've found.
Editing: Go to the Internet Journalism website, print out your articles, edit your articles and come back with some ideas for art, organization and interactive features.
