Got photo sites?
Why? Because you'll learn how to make a living.
"You can't make a living just taking pictures," said Shah Sadrud-Din, professor of photography at the State University of New York at Purchase, "You have to learn how to market the images you have. You always have to be in touch with what's happening in the photo world."
Professor Din recommends Pdnonline.com for those who are looking to do just that. Pdnonline.com, the website of "Photo District News," has an area dedicated to listings of contacts that has several categories
photographers can choose from, including photography equipment, supplies, services, dealers, retailers, brokers, and labs.
Photographers can find out where they can rent a studio or lab space, where they can get in contact with professional models, consultants, or assistants, where to buy art supplies, how they can sell their photographs,
where they can get their prints matted, where they can sign up for a photography school, and can even reach an attorney or insurance agency. The site also has a search engine where you can type in the area you want to find the information in, narrowing the search down to the state you're interested in.
You can also find a section on basic photography techniques, ranging from how to compose a photo to what type of film to use.
